Privacy and compliance information for clinical settings.
Sound Safari is a clinical practice tool designed for individual therapists and parents. It is not HIPAA compliant and we do not offer a Business Associate Agreement (BAA).
What this means:
- Sound Safari is appropriate for private practice, independent therapists, and home use
- If you work in a hospital, school district, or organization that requires HIPAA compliance, consult your compliance officer before using Sound Safari with patient data
Privacy protections built in:
- All data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account
- We cannot access your student data
- No data is sent to external servers (except anonymous homework practice scores)
- No analytics tracking that identifies users
Best practices for clinical settings:
- Use student initials or first names only (not full names)
- Avoid entering sensitive health information in notes fields
- Use your organization's approved tools for official clinical documentation
- Sound Safari's SOAP notes and reports are intended as clinical aids, not official medical records
